for rant 1 I agree. It’s amazing how much purging you need to do on that fight to be even remotely successful. I also love me some shadow priests for the exact same reason. This is where PUGs usually fail. In fact I’m so reliant on purge and wind shear in those fights that I’m never resto for Faction Champions of any flavour 10/H10/25. Haven’t gotten to H25 yet.

For #2 The dps gap is glaringly obvious to me these days. I’m never at the bottom but I’m never near the top either unless I play perfectly and even then some of the ret/mages/rogues whip my numbers hands down. The kicker is that my DK alt can put out 80% of my Shaman’s damage with far inferior gear. I Have 2 decent 245 weapons. Nothing BiS but not too shabby and I still have lots of problems keeping up. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s because of several things.

1) Maelstrom Weapons. I might get an addon to glaringly tell me it’s ready but the fact remains I use heals more often than I should all things considered. Either way having a 5 stack sitting there for more than 1-2 GCD is fail on my part. So is hitting LB/HW when I only have a 3-4 stack.

2) Non Optimal Totems. Sometimes I’m the flametongue bitch and well that just plain sucks for DPS. I’d be a selfish prick if I didn’t use it for the SPriest, Mage and healers of the group. The 3.3 changes will help. Not having any fire totems when the last one expired is another problem I’m working through.

3) I fail sometimes at optimizing longer cooldowns. Like the puppies, Fire Elemental, Trinkets, Shamanistic Rage (nothing says oh shit like running out of mana especially when you don’t need to) et al.

4) We are naturally at the bottom of the DPS pile right now and the Devs have repeatedly said we’re “fine” and exactly where they want us. I feel like TBC all over again. When I see Elemental Shamans whip my ass in T7-8 gear I get all kinds of cranky at how unfair it is, even if I love totem of wrath unconditionally.

Mainly it’s only because I play on a laptop, and thus have a supersupersuper small monitor. I have an external monitor, but my family managed to blow out theirs and have borrowed it for the time being. >.<

You know the one time I joined a faction champs 25 pug the exact same thing happened.

PURGE PURGE PURGE, EKLO, PURGE, PURGE, PURGE

At that moment if my sheer force of global-starved will could cause someone’s heart to explode, the raid leader would have been very dead. Of course we didn’t down them, since it was a pug. But that incessant idiotic raid leader focusing all the brunt of dispelling onto the offensive shaman ( two of us ) made me, you guess it! quit the raid.

They never did actually down faction champs, as a side note though, I can say that fight perfectly captures my roll in a 5′s match. Purge purge purge purge purge purge purge. AMIGAWD WINDSHEAR. Purge purge purge purge purge purge

That actually makes quite a bit of sense, then. Since I’m generally the assumed offensive dispeller (which I have no problem with!), I tend to think it’s directed at me.

I’ll shut up. Rant #1 solved. xD

Oh you know I trust you with everything that you do. It’s just that when I call those out in vent it’s usually because there’s been 2+ dispellable buffs on the kill target for so long that I just have to assume that you’ve been sheeped/feared or otherwise cc’ed up the rear, and other people have to pick up the slack.

It frustrates me much more that other hunters don’t even bother to help out with tranq shots.
